G4C Chapters

Games for Change is proud to have a team of accomplished professionals, and thought-leaders focused on inspiring others and pushing boundaries to explore how the world can use games and immersive media for social good.

Games for Change Africa is the most recent addition to the G4C Family. The creation of an African G4C chapter aims to bring together everyone interested in using games to drive social, learning, and business goals across the continent. The Chapter was formally launched at African Games Week in February 2022.

Games for Change Asia-Pacific was started in 2020. The chapter highlights games in education, health, and social change across one of the most diverse regions in the world, from New Zealand in the east, to India in the west. The Games for Change Asia-Pacific 2021 Festival was hosted in October 2021, with events at locations across the region. We are keen to represent all of the wonderful work being done throughout the Asia-Pacific!

Founded in 2010 and supported by the “City of Knowledge” research group at the University of São Paulo, Brazil, G4C Latin America brings together social impact games and immersive media creators throughout South America. The chapter has hosted eight festivals in Brazil. Since 2019, G4C Latin America hosts the “Pitch for Change” contest as a springboard for new ideas, prototypes, and start-ups that promote convergence between playfulness, education, technology, sustainability, entrepreneurship, and social change. In 2020, G4C Latin America partnered with WiBX in promoting cryptocurrency-based rewards for children and teenagers engaged with transformative ludic activities.

Founded in 2013, Games for Change Europe helps support interest in social impact games throughout Europe. We showcase best practices to the public and discuss the medium’s potential with companies, organizations, and governments. We also aid with business opportunities for direct investment to incubate games to support the role of European Game Developers. With partners from games academia and industry, we can access leading expertise and technology to help leverage entertaining games with non-entertainment goals.
