The Foos turns programming into play for kids ages 5 and up. The game introduces computer science and programming concepts through a visual coding language that is fun and accessible to people of all ages. Using a thoughtful combination of challenging puzzles and creative play, the game uses a no-words interface designed for pre-readers and global audiences.

The Foos makes learning programming seem like playing a video game in which you help adorable characters solve problems. Set in the animated world of Foosville, where the character of the Glitch is wreaking havoc, the game offers scenes where players need to help the inhabitants achieve or solve something. Kids track down a sneaky donut thief, rescue puppies lost in space and serve up gourmet meals while mastering important computer science concepts such as sequencing, pattern recognition, loops, and conditional statements.

The game was originally created for The ‘Hour of Code’ – a global initiative from Code.org and Computer Science Education Week to introduce millions of students to one hour of computer science and computer programming – and since its launch the game has introduced coding to over 2 million kids in 172 countries.

This game was a lot of fun. It liked the monster, he was funny. I liked that the ninja girl could go big and small. I would like to see a wider variety of characters.
