Fred is having an awful night. Lost in the wilderness and pursued by vicious wolves, it doesn’t seem like things could get any worse. The only thing keeping Fred from certain death is his body, a complex series of systems designed to keep him alive. While they operate at full capacity to get Fred back to safety, it is the perfect opportunity to take a close look and examine just how these systems work.

Playing as the different physical systems of Fred, the player must navigate through a series of mouse-based, timed, mini-games to deliver hemoglobin to muscles, deliver protein to important organs and keep Fred one step ahead of the hostile environment that menaces him throughout the night. Driving music and a clear visual design bolster Code Fred: Survival Mode’s gameplay to form an entertaining educational trip inside the body of a man who really needs the player’s help.

I really like the style of this game – the cel-shaded graphics are very inviting, with good animation. The music is catchy and sets you in the right mood, which is, "This game is about survival, but don’t worry, it’ll be okay." It’s nice to see a "survival" game that a non-gamer could play.

The puzzles are innovative on the surface, but ultimately don’t deliver … some amount to just clicking as quickly as possible, which is tiresome. A lot of puzzle I failed the first few times just because the rules were poorly explained. I never got past the "fix the leg’s nerve ending puzzles" because I kept dying, and I never knew why … I would repair a frayed nerved, and partway through fixing the next one, Fred would die without warning, and it wasn’t due to the timer running out. I tried every combination of attempting to repair the nerves before quitting. I still don’t know if it was because of a bug, or because I was doing something wrong (there wasn’t enough feedback to know).

I like the educational aspect that this game promises, but wish it delivered more on that promise. Puzzles often involve getting your internal organs to work in spite of Fred’s dire circumstances, but I don’t have any greater understand of human biology after playing the game. A little more text would help give context to the puzzles (and this would probably help explain the often confusing puzzle objectives).

I like the idea and the style of Code Fred so much, but I wish the puzzle mechanics were better (and not broken, as I suspect).

This game has as amazing setting. The connection between animation, story and minigames was perfectly made.

All the minigames have its tutorials short and thorough which is a difficult thing to achieve. Specially, in games that you are trying to explain how the body works.

On the other hand, all game mechanics had some quirks that usually happens when you have a team with lots of art skill but not as much programming. It was not big enough to get in my way, but it could be a problem for greater puzzles.

To sum up with the cons, the game use each of these mechanics just once. So, when the player gets the mechanic he doesn’t use it anymore in the game in a way that you couldn’t create puzzles that uses the fact that the player has already mastered the principles as a way to check if he really understood and to help him memorize this information that was given.

Anyhow, I really liked the game and I hope that a lot of people get to play it.

This game was okay for intensity wise but if you want anyone to stay on the site or keep playing these games you need to add intresting stuff to it.

I chose to play this game because it looked interesting. It also was the only one that didn’t take forever to load. I’ve never played a game like this. It’s very unique. This game is helping people to learn and understand what is inside there body.

It was a an interesting idea for a game. I liked the survival part of it. It had lots of information about how the body functions. It had decent graphics but room for improvement. The music was catchy and interesting. It might have been better if there was a story to how he got to the woods and trapped. Overall it was an ok game but room for improvement.

It’s good up until the severed nerves in the leg level. I couldn’t figure that one out for the life of me and ended up getting too frustrated to continue. Up until then it was a great and educational game.

this game is alot of fun, challenging, but not get mad and smash the keyboard, or stop playing hard. it has lots of information. and i like that it implies he dies at the end, gives a sense of realism.

In my point of view this game was great. I learned a lot from it and how complex our body is, and how complex its fanctions are. I wouldn’t change absolutely anything.

Let me first state that I couldn’t get through this game because of how god awful it is. I will start on the graphic, they were lacking built up of primarily flat lifeless square blocks, on a game that is supposed to be about life! They were very lacking in any texture and failed to draw me in and take my full attention. Now I will talk about controls, the only controls this game uses is a point and click system. With that toy can pretty much have an entire Idea of what the game is like… BORING!!! it is pretty much compiled of a bunch of lazily thought up mini games that were either entirely to easy or the instructions weren’t clear enough on what to do, and that takes away from the poor score I was already going to give the game. My final verdict is a 2 out of 10, not even worth giving a 1st glance.

this game is interesting. the purpose of the game is to make it to the end by completing very simple mini games that only use the mouse as a control. the concept is clever and has to do with the body and the games are actually really easy, but i found that i lost way more than i should have. the instructions weren’t very clear at all so i had no idea what i was supposed to do or how i was supposed to do it half the time. the game wasn’t very fun although the animations were really nice. the style of the graphics were unique and worked well with the game. there should have been more variation with the controls and different ways of playing the game.
