Throughout April, partners of the UN Foundation’s Nothing But Nets campaign will donate $10 for each person who signs up to play “Deliver the Net”
Supplementing its content rich Nothing But Nets website, the UN Foundation commissioned an online game to commemorate World Malaria Day and to teach users about preventing a real, deadly problem. Players race the sun to deliver as many insecticide-treated bed nets as possible before malaria-carrying mosquitos come out to bite African families. More nets delivered equals more lives saved.
Bed nets are one of the most simple approaches to combating the spread of malaria—a leading killer of children in Africa. Ten dollars covers the cost of purchasing, distributing, and educating recipients on its proper use. Making donating simple, people can also skip the game and just send a net. Beyond raising awareness, “Deliver the Net” ties directly to impact and action. Graphically well executed, the game will support the release of up to $200,000 for nets
