Game Lets Teens Try Their Hand at Running Nonprofits

Posted by Hsing Wei on 05-02-07

NY-based nonprofit DoSomething partnered with JP Morgan Chase Foundation to develop a game that helps teens think more about helping those in need - maximizing karma instead of profits.

Karma Loop empowers teens to get involved in philanthropic endeavors by letting them explore how they want to contribute.  Players can pick the type of nonprofit they would like to administer and establish their virtual organization in one of 12 major U.S. cities.  Starting the game requires a DoSomething login, thus also helping to build a community base for the nonprofit which seeks to help young people change the world.
