Karen Schrier, PhD
Assistant Professor of Media Arts, Marist College
Karen Schrier is an Assistant Professor of Media Arts at Marist College, where she leads the concentration in Interactive Media/Game Design. Prior to being a full-time academic, she produced media and games at Scholastic, BrainPOP, Nickelodeon and ESI Design. She has helped design Health Teacher’s “Awesome Upstanders” an anti-bullying mobile game, and Channel 13′s “Mission U.S.: For Crown or Colony?” She is currently editing a book series on using and designing educational games, written by member of the Learning and Education Games IGDA SIG. She holds a doctorate from Columbia University, master’s degree from MIT and bachelor’s degree from Amherst College.
