Jordan Shapiro is author of the pop-philosophy treatise, FREEPLAY: A Video Game Guide to Maximum Euphoric Bliss
. He writes a regular column on game based learning and edTech for Forbes. He teaches in Temple University’s Intellectual Heritage Department, where he’s celebrated for using Twitter, Space Invaders, and Angry Birds to help explain the big ideas in Western philosophy and depth psychology. He also serves as lead administrator for Project Learn School in Philadelphia, a unique leading K-8 independent school that strives to balance the ideals of a progressive, alternative classroom with an education in 21st Century skills. He loves playing console and touch-screen games with his two sons (5 & 8 years old).
