“Bigger Picture” Arcade by Global Game Jam
Global Game Jam is the world’s largest game jam event. Think of it as a hackathon focused on game development, where game creators come together for a weekend, create, share experiences and express themselves in a multitude of ways using video games.
For the January 2013 event, the Global Game Jam partnered up with Games for Change to create a diversifier (or additional challenge) to incentivize game creators to make games for social impact. This diversifier was called “Bigger Picture” and over 300 games that dealt with economic, political and social issues were created over a single weekend.
Curated by the Global Game Jam, the top 5 “Bigger Picture” games will be available for attendees to play on the main floor during the 10th Anniversary Games for Change Festival.
Serving as Guest Curator of the “Bigger Picture” Arcade is Global Game Jam President, Susan Gold.
