Ida C. Benedetto

Ida is a Brook­lyn-based media strate­gist, pro­ducer and doc­u­men­tar­ian working with visual media and dig­i­tal tech­nol­ogy to fos­ter sto­ry­telling, col­lab­o­ra­tion and diver­sity. Her cre­ative roots lie in pho­tog­ra­phy, and her cur­rent work involves dig­i­tal games and inter­ac­tive media. She is cur­rently Salon Pro­ducer for the award-win­ning polit­i­cal blog Bag­News­Notes, Lead Doc­u­men­tar­ian and Infor­ma­tion Archi­tect on social inter­est games for PET­Lab, and Documentarian/Archivist for the infa­mous Baby­cas­tles. Her previous pro­fes­sional expe­ri­ences include work­ing for a foun­da­tion, a photo agency, two design stu­dios, and about a dozen NGOs. She has worked in Guatemala, India, and Ethiopia on doc­u­men­tary projects and com­mu­nity based media pro­duc­tion. She recently com­pleted a 10-month Ful­bright grant to Ethiopia where she worked with the youth film col­lec­tive Sud­den Flow­ers Pro­duc­tions. Ida holds a BFA in Design & Tech­nol­ogy from Par­sons School of Design and a BA in His­tory from Eugene Lang, both col­leges of The New School University.
