Today we’re excited to announce that we’ve been named a laureate for the 2011 Tech Awards by The Tech Museum. We are among the 15 global innovators recognized for applying technology to benefit humanity and spark global change.
The Tech Awards is the premier annual humanitarian awards program in the world, recognizing technical solutions that benefit humanity and address the most critical issues facing our planet and its people.
“We are truly honored that Games for Change will share the stage at The Tech Awards ceremony with Jeff Skoll, this year’s Global Humanitarian Award recipient,” said Asi Burak and Michelle Byrd, Co-Presidents of Games for Change. “As Laureates in the Education category, we are particularly grateful for the awards package which includes a short film produced on the work of our organization and the introductions to leaders in Silicon Valley.”
“The global challenges of the day have become increasingly strident, more deeply rooted,” said David Whitman, Vice President of Signature Programs at The Tech Museum. “Still, there is hope. These incredibly impressive Laureates have all proven to be equal to, or better than, the challenge to make the world a better place. By celebrating their accomplishments today, we are encouraging future innovators to work toward solutions to make the world healthier, safer and more sustainable.”
